POSITION PURPOSE The Director of Finance and Strategy at the UW School of Social Work serves as the primary fiscal director to support internal and external funding operations within the School as well as supporting growth for strategic partnerships that intersect with the School of Social Work. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Master's Degree in Business, Accounting or a related field. Five years of experience working in a University financial setting (or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis on budget, operational, and fiscal management). ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Must be skilled in creating and using complex MS Excel spreadsheets and other information systems for financial management. Must also be experienced with using MS Word, and MS Powerpoint. Demonstrated knowledge or ability to learn quickly the major UW systems including EDW, Workday, systems. Ability to accurately analyze complex financial and accounting data and communicate clearly to faculty and staff. Must possess an understanding of complex business practices that include state budget process cycles, self-sustaining entities, and UW fiscal management. Must communicate well both orally and in writing. Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and leadership. Ability to work effectively with staff, faculty, students, other units on campus and the general public. DESIRED REQUIREMENTS Understanding of UW organizational structures for reporting. Experience with the major UW systems including Workday.
