Mille Lacs Health System, Saint Paul, Minnesota, United States,

Mille Lacs Health System (MLHS) is a comprehensive healthcare system that is tucked alongside one of Minnesota's greatest lakes and is located 80 miles from the Twin Cities, in Onamia, Minnesota. It is an independent rural health care system serving an estimated 20,000 year-round residents of the predominantly rural area of Mille Lacs County. We also serve portions of Morrison, Aitkin, Crow Wing, and Kanabec counties and residents of the Mille Lacs Ojibwe Indian Reservation. Located near beautiful Mille Lacs Lake, we are also a convenient high-quality healthcare facility for weekend visitors and vacationers. MLHS is a community-owned, not-for-profit healthcare organization which consists of an 18 bed Critical Access rural hospital and Level IV Trauma Center in Onamia as well as five Family Medicine Clinics located in Isle, Garrison, Hillman, Onamia, and Milaca. We also have two retail community pharmacies with highly qualified pharmacists and techs in Isle and Onamia to offer the breadth of care that our community requires. MLHS was community-founded in 1956 and over the years have made major upgrades to services and facilities. In 2023 we completed a major $30 million three-year building project on the main campus in Onamia. This modern facility offers state-of-the-art technology and is staffed by Family Medicine Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, a surgical team, visiting specialists, and a skilled compassionate nursing staff. We also serve our community with a 57 bed Long Term Care, a 10 bed Senior Care unit which offers inpatient geriatric psychiatry services designed to address the specific mental health issues of adults 55+, and Home Care and Hospice services. Our focus on daily health and wellness includes chiropractic care and therapy (physical/occupational/speech/cardiac) and programs for chronic conditions such as diabetes and sleep issues. We also offer transitional care to patients not ready to be home on their own (Swing beds). We provide urgent care and emergency care, and have our own ambulance service as well as a heliport for patient transfers. We employ over 450 people and are the second largest employer in the Mille Lacs area.
