Position Overview: Our client, a leading EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) firm, is seeking a skilled Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Engineer to join their Boston office. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and implementing instrumentation and control systems for various projects. Candidates with a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license are preferred, though those willing to obtain it will also be considered.

Position Overview: Our client, a leading EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) firm, is seeking a skilled Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Engineer to join their Boston office. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and implementing instrumentation and control systems for various projects. Candidates with a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license are preferred, though those willing to obtain it will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement instrumentation and control systems for a variety of projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
- Work includes both in-plant and remote telemetry (SCADA) projects, with HMI and PLC programming.
- Develop P&IDs; prepare I&C system specifications; prepare cost estimates; and review and approve documentation developed by contractors and systems integrators.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
- Provide technical support and guidance during the installation, testing, and commissioning of I&C systems.
- Develop and review engineering documents, including specifications, datasheets, and control system diagrams.
- Conduct field inspections and provide engineering support during construction phases.
- Ensure that all engineering work complies with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Participate in project meetings and provide input on project planning, scheduling, and execution.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Texas, or a commitment to obtain the license within a specified time frame.
- 3+ years of experience in instrumentation and control engineering design experience.
- Control system networking expertise and software programming capability preferred.
- Cybersecurity experience/qualifications a bonus
- Strong knowledge of control systems, including PLCs, DCS, SCADA, and related software.
- Experience with designing and implementing control systems in industries such as water/wastewater, manufacturing, industrial, pharmaceutical.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, and control system simulation software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interface with clients and project stakeholders.
- Experience in leading and mentoring junior engineers.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations such as ISA, IEC, and NEC.
- Project management experience or certifications such as PMP.
