About the Position

The Program Associate coordinates data, processes, and engagements in support of the
Foundation's mission. The Program Associate is a member of the Foundation's Community
Investments team, which works collectively to improve the health and well-being of our Central
Texas neighbors through grantmaking efforts.

This Program Associate works across the Foundation's community impact goal areas: access to
care, economic stability, and community driven change.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Support and Initiative Management (40%)

  • Support the Community Investments team to ensure an ongoing connection between the Foundation's strategic direction and the operations of the Foundation.
  • Manage discrete bodies of work that may include existing initiative oversight, new project support, or project and relationship management.
  • Serve as a connector and facilitate collaboration between the Community Investments team and members of other teams including Grants Management, Learning & Evaluation, and Communications.
  • Serve as a connector and facilitate collaboration within the Community Investments team by providing communication, utilizing project management, and organizing team conversations and learning.
  • Support and oversee team use of technology and tools to ensure effective and efficient grants and knowledge management; providing training as needed.

Research and Quantitative Analysis (20%)

  • Prepare written presentations and other materials, including reports and program/policy analyses in support of the Foundation's strategic plan using a variety of sources, including traditional research sources and community engagement.
  • Conduct quantitative analysis to support data informed decision making across the Community Investments team and Foundation.

Convenings (15%)

  • Plan, manage, and participate in conferences, meetings, and other gatherings of grantees, consultants, and partners.

Grants Administration (15%)

  • In partnership with the Grants Management Team, support CI team members in evaluating grant proposals, conducting background research, and preparing proposals for funding.
  • In partnership with the Learning & Evaluation Team, support organizational data management by monitoring, collecting, and analyzing data presented as part of the grants process.

Learning (10%)

  • Support implementation of monitoring, learning, and evaluation processes related to the Foundation grants and strategic direction.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  2. Minimum of three years of program management support and/or project management experience.
  3. Experience in foundation grantmaking, public health, and/or program evaluation.
  4. Experience in quantitative and qualitative research.
  5. Experience in an external-facing role, such as community outreach or client service.
  6. Demonstrated effective public speaking, interpersonal and written communication skills.
  7. Experience with report synthesis and preparation.
  8. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  9. Willingness and ability to travel, on occasion, to multiple locations within Central Texas. This role requires up to 25% travel, primarily by car within the five-county region in which the Foundation works.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Minimum of five years of program management support and/or project management experience.
  2. Experience with Blackbaud or other grants management software.
  3. Advanced degree in Public Health, Social Work, Public Administration/Affairs, Healthcare Administration, Business, Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field.
  4. Bilingual in English and Spanish.
