Job Description The position is a key member of the aircraft component Maintenance/Repair/Overhaul organization and is responsible for increasing the industrial maturity of the organization. The Industrial Engineer will lead and assists new repair capability additions, new process start-up and process validation, various problem-solving actions and continuous improvement action for existing processes. This candidate is expected to continuously improve his/her knowledge of Lean and CI concepts and to train and coach employees in the same. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. • Design and write internal repair instructions and coordinate with the OEM for approval.. • Development of specific tools & test benches • Lead problem solving activities such as 8D, DMAIC, A3 and QRQC Methodologies; train and coach employees on these methods • Create Standard Work Documents, including job routers/travelers • Lead Time Study activities, develop work standard times, monitor actual clocking time, identify performance gaps and assist is improvement and corrective actions • Create and maintain TPM data, tools and equipment, • Provide training to technicians on new and current processes • Lead 5S initiatives, perform 5s audits, train and coach employees on Lean concepts • Lead and participate in Value Stream Mapping activities • Manage new capability industrialization projects New repair capabilities technical development – Duplication or entry into service • Define and write new repair documents, in accordance with the OEM specifications to streamline and reduce the time spent on some specific repair process • Review the technical documents (CMM, SB, SiL, FP) for new repair capabilities, entry into service of a new program, transfer of an OEM repair station to Safran network • Define and list specific tools, test benches and general facility installations to implement in the repair station (approved by CapEx). Follow up on the purchase of test and repair equipment and install them in the workshop. Record, approve and justify equivalences as required for new equipment. Major in Industrial Engineering highly preferred. b) Experience • Three to five years of experience in manufacturing / engineering • Experience in aircraft maintenance engineering will be a strong advantage. c) Knowledge and Technical skills • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical data (blue prints, drawings, bill of materials) • Ability to design simple mechanical fixtures or specific tools for composite repairs or for the repair / disassembly / assembly of mechanical parts. Ability to produce corresponding drawings on computer-aided software for manufacturing. • Ability to formalize repair and work processes, and write procedures for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. d) Communication Skills • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical data (blue prints, drawings, bill of materials) • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. • Ability to formalize repair and work processes, and write procedures for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. • Ability to effectively report present information to management, public groups, and/or top management. e) Physical Demands • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. • Incumbent in this position must occasionally squat, crawl, climb, crouch, kneel, balance and push/pull and may be required to reach above shoulder level, must frequently bend/stoop. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs • Average visual acuity is required; must be able to use video display terminal, and color acuity is required. This job requires better than average manual dexterity; while performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.
