Quality Engineer

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Uphold the Carlex Quality Policy
• Maintain plant compliance to IATF-16949:2016 and ISO\u00029001:2015 standards as well as customer defined quality systems and requirements
• Lead the development of production documentation including Control Plans, DVP&R, PFMEA and Standardized Work to PPAP requirements
• Monitor customer supplied warranty data and supplier PPAP files and respond accordingly.
• Oversee the evaluation of process audits and finished product inspections for quality and reliability
• In conjunction with Corporate Quality and the Quality Manager, develop internal quality control standards for the plant
• Ensure quality systems and procedures are maintained and effectively used by all associates
• Communicate significant quality issues throughout all levels of the Company
• Develop and maintain a partnership-style relationship with customers and suppliers
• Work closely with other plant team members to address the day to day problems and improve product and process quality
• Occasionally travel to the assembly plants to review products and interact with customer personnel
• Be knowledgeable all government-required testing, reporting and recordkeeping as required by FMVSS-205, ECER43, CCC, and other country regulations
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering or another technical field required, or;
• High School diploma or equivalent with at least 8 years relevant manufacturing Quality experience required
• IATF Internal Auditor certification is required
• IATF Lead Auditor preferred
Years of Experience:
• 3+ years of Quality experience in a manufacturing environment with an undergraduate Degree
• 8+ years of Quality experience in a manufacturing environment with a High School Diploma or equivalent
Other Requirements:
• Recent training in Core Tools, or willingness to receive training within the first year in the position
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5-S, Total Quality Concepts, and Six Sigma
• Possess a robust understanding of the IATF and ISO standards and their implementation in an automotive Tier
1 and Tier 2 facility
• Valid driver’s license required for business travel
• Regular and predictable attendance required
• Off-schedule hours may be required as work load or projects dictate, including weekends and holidays
KEY COMPETENCIES
• Advanced/Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Hands-on approach to problem solving and analysis

- Working knowledge of AIAG APQP/PPAP Disciplines
- Preferred for American Society Quality (ASQ) Certification, Certified Quality Engineer
- Preferred Automotive Tier 1 Glass Mfg Experience
