Systems Architect (hybrid: 3 days/week onsite) - Tallahassee, FL

Start Date: ASAP
Type: Temporary Project
Estimated Duration:6 months with possible extensions.
Work Setting: Hybrid: work a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.

Required:
• Availability to work 3+ days per week at the Client's site in Tallahassee, FL (required);
• Experience with Information Builders, Inc (IBI) - WebFOCUS / iWay products and related server environments;
• Experience with IIS Administration;
• Experience with network communications, including TCP/IP and DNS Samba/CIFS file sharing and NTFS permissions;
• IT work experience in infrastructure / systems environments performing systems planning, architecture design, engineering (hardware and software), and optimization (7-10 years);
• IT work experience in infrastructure / network environments in systems operations, support, maintenance, and administration (3-5 years);
• Experience with network performance tuning, LAN, network design, and implementation;
• Experience establishing systems by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls;
• Experience monitoring systems and applications to ensure security, availability, and performance;
• Experience maintaining network and systems performance by performing systems monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting systems and application problems; escalating problems to vendor;
• Experience using Microsoft Power BI or other Business Intelligence tools;
• Experience securing systems by developing systems access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; maintaining documentation;
• Experience establishing systems specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements;
• Experience designing and conducting training programs; providing references and support;
• Experience upgrading systems by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements.

Preferred:
• Development process experience.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Support and expand infrastructure as needed;
• Coordinate server configuration and administration with multiple parties;
• Troubleshoot end user issues;
• Make recommendations for future server and software upgrades;
• Maintain, repair, and upgrade network and computer systems;
• Provide resource support to upgrade, configure, and optimize the WebFOCUS server environment;
• Facilitate with OIT staff resource to provide knowledge and skills transfer;
• Assist with configuring WebFOCUS server security;
• Assist in leveraging new features in the product such as App Studio and Deferred Execution (a possible replacement for mainframe batch processing), and new features in existing products such as ReportCaster (Report Library);
• Assist in modernizing the WebFOCUS application development environment;
• Assist impacted business units with migration effort;
• Assist with proactive application architecture and tuning to get the most benefit out of the distributed WebFOCUS environment;
• Provide proactive review, adjusting, tuning and optimization of the WebFOCUS & iWay servers;
• Provide for the concentrated oversight and review of vendor patches, maintenance releases and upgrades to the server;
• Facilitates the establishment and implementation of standards and guidelines that guide the design of technology solutions including architecting and implementing solutions requiring integration of multiple platforms, operating systems, and applications across the enterprise;
• Reviews, advises, and designs standard software and hardware builds, system options, risks, costs vs benefits, and impact on the enterprise business processes and goals;
• Develops and documents the framework for integration and implementation for changes to technical standards;
• Assists in the development of and manages the architecture governance process;
• Provides technical guidance to project team areas as appropriate;
• Tracks industry trends and maintains knowledge of new technologies to better serve the enterprise's architecture needs.
