Costing Estimator

Responsibilities

• The Costing Estimator is responsible for estimating material, labor, and associated costs from receipt of project drawings to the final proposal.
• Responsible for interim and post job studies.
• Create material takeoffs and labor estimates according to sketches or engineering specification
• Research and specify materials to be used on products.
• Create costing documentation
• Analyze actual labor, material and cost against costing and labor reports
• Interact with Design Engineers to ensure accuracy of BOM (bill of materials)
• Review BOMs to ensure they reflect latest manufacturing practices

Qualifications

• Associate's degree and 1-2 years experience or equivalent combination
• Excellent project and time management skills
• A strong team spirit, exceptional time management skills, attention to detail and an extensive knowledge of material and manufacturing process. Knowledge of store fixtures, P.O.P displays is a plus.
• Excellent oral, written and mathematical skills
• Works well under pressure to hit tight deadlines when necessary
• Exposure to manufacturing, costing, reporting and variance analysis is a must
• Possess extensive knowledge of materials and processes
• Able to read and accurately interpret complex drawings and specifications.
• Intermediate skill level with Microsoft software
• Proficient in AutoCAD a plus
