Job Title: Business Analyst
Location: Denver, CO-100% Remote
Duration: 3 Months

Job Description:
Conduct interviews with the CDPS IT organization to gather detailed information.
  • Comply with law enforcement policies
  • Experience leading and conducting interviews with diverse IT stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in documenting and diagramming IT environments.
  • Awareness of CMDB and application portfolio management tools.
  • Ability to complete CJIS onboarding and fingerprinting.
  • Assist the Client Portfolio Manager during the initial stages of project initiation, including discovery and initiation phases.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to develop requirements and support solution engineering in defining and planning project initiatives.
  • Limit the time spent on high-level estimates and impact assessments to no more than 15 hours during the Gate 0: project rationalization phase.
  • Leading project initiation phases.
  • Interfacing with stakeholders to understand business cases and solicit requirements.
  • Consulting with solution engineers to align requirements clearly.
Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in business IT / Computer Science or a related field is standard, Agile, Business analysis, Data analysis skills, Jira, Microsoft Excel, Proven experience in eliciting requirements and testing, Solid experience in writing SQL queries, Basic knowledge in generating process documentation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Gather business requirements from users and translate into functional and technical specifications
  • Document business processes and provide best practices recommendations
  • Work as a liaison between the business and IT (QA, test, developers)
  • Translate business needs into effective requirements statements
  • Assess the business impact of requested and ongoing systems improvements
  • Participate on project teams to ensure that implementation satisfies the business need and maximizes process and system integration
  • Participates in enterprise-level project teams to identify and implement process and system improvements.
  • Works with stakeholders to identify improvements and assess their relative priority
  • Determines the appropriate course of action for new requests: immediate resolution through existing functionality, support request for quick implementation, or as part of a larger project
  • Utilize experience in business processes for IT systems; business case development; requirements gathering; gap analysis; process mapping; solution design; and support
  • Actively manages customer expectations and communicates status of pending projects
  • Tracks backlog of requests and works with customer to incorporate these into subsequent projects based on priority
  • Proven ability to take complex business requirements translating those requirements into functional requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree 7 years' experience as business analyst focused on enterprise applications and IT systems
  • Business process expertise desired in the areas of Accounting and Billing, Finance/Controlling, HR/Benefits/Payroll, Procurement, Contract Management, Quality Assurance, Legal/Regulatory
  • Experience in business case development, requirements gathering and definition, gap analysis, process mapping, solution design.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment
  • Proven success as a business analyst, with demonstrated ability to facilitate discussion and build consensus
  • Ability to produce quality requirements documents, process maps, use case diagrams.
  • Ability to use various tools such as Visio and power point to graphically represent work flow diagrams, process flow and other information gathered.
