Roadway Drainage Engineer / H&H / Water Resources (EIT or PE)

BGE Inc is looking for a Roadway Drainage Engineer / H&H / Water Resources (EIT or PE) either sit in North Austin (Round Rock) or South Austin (Directors Blvd) office.

Job Responsibilities

• Performs H&H engineering analysis and design on multiple projects with many complex features.
• Performs hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, prepares hydrologic and hydraulic models, evaluates results, and summarizes results and recommendations to produce drainage impact studies, conveyance analysis, storage analysis, and other drainage improvements or related surface water engineering.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field
• Prefer a Certified EIT or already Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
• Interest in drainage or related surface water engineering and/or hydrology and hydraulics and its effects on project outcomes.
• Experience with complex drainage: urban drainage, restoration, reformation.
• Some professional experience, internship, or school experience in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design, or related surface water engineering is preferred but not required.
• Hydrologic/hydraulic modeling experience desired including both steady and unsteady modeling, 1D and 2D modeling.
• Some experience using drafting software (Open Roads Designer, and MicroStation) desired and drainage design software (esp. ORD Subsurface Utilities and Drainage Analysis and/or Geopak Drainage) desired.
• Some experience or knowledge in HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, InfoWorks, XPSWMM 1D & 2D, ArcGIS or ArcPro, HEC-GeoRAS, HEC-GeoHMS, or ArcHydro
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
