Objective:

We are a fast-growing specialist short-range, low-power wireless connectivity semiconductor company, currently one of the top two vendors in the BLE space. Based on substantial growth over the last few years with a strong pipeline of new customer designs and product releases, we are looking for a Field Application Engineer to join our FAE team. The FAE will provide technical support for customers and to the Sales and FAE teams. The FAE will assist in developing opportunities incorporating our products and follow those through to production solutions. The FAE identifies and shares current and emerging customer technical needs to improve our product positioning and guide new product development. The primary customers to be supported are in the Western area, but travel to other areas of North America to support customers will be required.

Responsibilities:

  • This role entails providing Field technical support for assigned territory.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams of Sales, and Marketing to support customer technical requirements.
  • Develop relationships with key customer engineers and decision-makers with the goal of being considered a trusted technical advisor.
  • Manage troubleshooting and technical support to customers as needed.
  • Support customers in the evaluation process and application development
  • Conduct device experimentation to reproduce and understand customers' issues and to independently find solutions to these issues.
  • Clearly communicate solutions to customers and their issues to the division.
  • We are looking for someone who understands how to work with our engineering teams in the US and China and can leverage those to support our customers in a high-touch engineering engagement.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and above in Electronic Engineering/computer science or related majors.
  • 4+ years of field support experience in semiconductors or related industries.
  • Experience with computer languages and embedded programming, including but not limited to C/C++.
  • Understand basic microcontroller programming and communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, PWM, and ADC.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with one or more of the short-distance wireless protocols such as Bluetooth Low Energy (LE), Zigbee, RF4CE, Thread, 2.4 GHz Proprietary, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth Classic.
  • Familiarity and hands-on experience with RTOS, such as FreeRTOS and Zephyr are preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Familiar with debugging tools such as multi-meter and oscilloscope.
  • Capable of establishing open and trusting relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Bilingual in mandarin is a plus.
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally (occasionally).
  • A desire to solve problems and a positive 'can do' attitude.
