Lead Engineer - Transmission Line

Position Overview

Power your future with Qualus as a Transmission Line Engineer designing transmission structures and power lines for high voltage applications.

Responsibilities

  • Design transmission structures and power lines for high voltage applications.

  • Prepare and review technical specifications and drawings.

  • Conduct engineering analysis and simulations for transmission line design.

  • Mentor and train lower-level engineers and team members.

  • Perform independent reviews of work performed by others, including calculations, drawings, specification, and transmission line PLS-CADD models.

  • Provide support to the project team during construction and installation.

  • Collaborate with other engineers and project managers to ensure project goals are met.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.

  • Perform field work as required to support design, construction, and commissioning activities.

  • Interface with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.

  • Participate in project meetings and provide technical support as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical).

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in transmission line design for high voltage applications. (Hiring for all position levels, depending upon experience)

  • PE License required.

  • Strong knowledge of structural design and analysis principles and tools.

  • Strong working knowledge of foundation design and analysis.

  • Proficiency in engineering software such as PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, FAD Tools, and AutoCAD.

  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards such as NESC, ASCE, ACI, RUS, IEC, and IEEE.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong desire to mentor, train and lead next generation of engineers.
