Audubon is currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our team in our Houston, TX Office. The Project Engineer will be accountable for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of assigned projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals. This role involves coordinating with multiple departments and disciplines, including engineering, production, safety, and procurement, to ensure seamless project execution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, project management experience, and a thorough understanding of capital project life cycle.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Project Planning and Management:
    • Translating business objectives into the capital project objectives.
    • Developing detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, schedules, budgets, and resources.
    • Managing all phases of projects, from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring, and closure.
    • Coordinating with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and deliverables.
    • Management of 3rd party engineering and construction contractors
  • Budget and Resource Management:
    • Monitoring project budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost-effective solutions.
    • Allocating resources effectively, ensuring that project teams have the necessary tools and personnel.
    • Providing accurate monthly forecasts.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies.
    • Monitoring project risks and implementing contingency plans as needed.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensuring that all project activities comply with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
    • Conducting regular quality audits and reviews to ensure project deliverables meet the required specifications.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    • Maintaining regular communication with stakeholders, including senior management, project teams, and external partners.
    • Providing regular updates on project progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintaining comprehensive project documentation, including plans, schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
    • Preparing and presenting detailed reports on project status, performance metrics, and outcomes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • B.S. degree, in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 3+ years of project management experience. Preferably in manufacturing and/or petrochemical industry.
  • Self-motivated, self-managing, and proactive.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and ability to work across business functions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
