Senior Facilities Engineer

Position Summary This individual will participate in the development, planning, engineering and operations of Chord Energy midstream and upstream facility assets. Assets include but are not limited to saltwater disposals (SWDs), gathering systems (oil, produced water, gas, & fresh water), gas plants, oil conditioners and central processing facilities. The position requires an operations background and understanding of the design, construction, and operation of facility assets. This position is located in downtown Houston, TX. Hybrid work schedule is an option for remote work on Mondays and Fridays. Level and salary commensurate with experience. Essential Job Functions
  • Manage project planning, execution and review through all phases from scope, estimation, approval, engineering design, procurement, construction, commissioning/startup, and review to support development, optimization, and compliance
  • Manage technical scope of projects to ensure Chord Energy complies with government regulations and area/ industry standards
  • Model existing and proposed pipelines in support of operations, project engineering, and commercial development
  • Aid in troubleshooting of day-to-day operational issues with any surface equipment at the tank battery or Chord-owned midstream facility
  • Monitor and recommend new technologies, specifically focused on ESG initiatives
  • Collaborate with multiple entities including Marketing, Operations, Land, Legal, and Accounting along with external entities such as contractors, equipment providers, government agencies, regulatory bodies, landowners, and other producers
  • Generate MOC documentation and act as a reviewer/approver for technical MOCs
  • Lead and/or participate in PHA's, Risk Assessments and Incident Investigations
  • Develop and/or advise on Facility SOP's and design best practices
  • Contribute to safety leadership on the Facilities Team
  • Support and maintain Project KPIs and reporting
  • Manage contract engineering services

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
  • 7 years of oil and gas experience, preferably in upstream and/or midstream facilities
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills and the ability to work with internal and external contacts
  • Able to travel as needed
  • Efficient in Microsoft 365 and PipeSIM
  • Strong economic skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing company
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone

  • 10 years of oil and gas experience
  • Operations experience in the Bakken area
  • Electrical, automation, and controls experience
  • Central processing facilities, oil conditioner and gas plant experience
  • Process modeling (ProMax or Hysis)
