Due to extensive growth, Rite-Hite has an opening for a Vice President of Environmental, Health & Safety at our new headquarters in Milwaukee's Fifth Ward. This position will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive EHS programs across our global locations including general office locations, manufacturing sites, and field service/installation centers. This role involves strategic leadership in both health and safety and environmental management, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering a culture of safety and sustainability. Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a global EHS strategy that aligns with the company's objectives, emphasizing both safety and environmental stewardship. Lead and mentor regional EHS teams to ensure consistent and effective implementation of EHS policies and practices across all facilities. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, national, and international health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards. Monitor changes in environmental laws and regulations, and update policies and procedures accordingly. Health and Safety Management: Oversee the development and implementation of health and safety programs, including risk assessments, incident management, emergency response, and training. Establish and maintain safety performance metrics and benchmarks and ensure their effective application globally. Environmental Management: Develop and implement environmental programs and policies to manage waste, emissions, and resource use, ensuring sustainability and regulatory compliance. Drive initiatives for environmental impact reduction, including energy efficiency, water conservation, and waste minimization. Risk Management: Identify and assess potential health, safety, and environmental risks; develop and implement strategies to mitigate these risks. Conduct regular audits and inspections, and lead investigations into incidents and environmental breaches to determine root causes and implement corrective actions. Training and Development: Design and deliver comprehensive EHS training programs for employees at all levels, focusing on both health and safety and environmental practices. Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility through ongoing education and engagement initiatives. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with senior management, HR, and operational leaders to integrate EHS considerations into business processes and decision-making. Communicate EHS policies, updates, and initiatives effectively across the organization. Continuous Improvement: Advocate for and drive continuous improvement in EHS practices through innovation, best practices, and benchmarking. Stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, and emerging regulations to ensure the company remains a leader in EHS excellence. Overall, the Director of EHS plays a crucial role in ensuring that we are driving a culture of safety and that we are continuously improving our EHS processes. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 4-year bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred. 10+ years of experience in environmental health and safety management within a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a senior or global leadership role. Proven experience in developing and implementing environmental health and safety programs and managing global teams.
