Job Description: This role works closely with the Performance Reporting and Analytics Team to synthesize and interpret performance of the Companys investment programs and underlying investments. This position will assist in historical performance metric calculations for reporting and will assist in delivering actionable, performance-based insights for communicating to and assisting senior management with decision making. Essential Duties: Reporting
Documentation of all Investment-level processes, including documenting calculations of returns, methodologies used and maintaining all disclosures for investment-level track records. Oversee all investment return calculations from signoff of components to processing/finalization of investment level returns. Present investment level returns to Fund Teams for review and discussion. Maintain data structure/model for housing all investment level returns by Fund/Mandate. Work closely with Portfolio Management teams to report historical returns, provide insight and help produce projected returns. Work with fund administrator (SS&C) to revamp performance mapping from various investment management templates.
Track Records
Build track records for marketing decks and due diligence questionnaires (DDQs) by maintaining all investment level composites within the firm. Report investment level returns for all supplemental and consultant requests. Assist the Global Investors Group (GIG) and Investor Services and Reporting (ISR) with handling Consultant Questionnaires, DDQs, and marketing decks.
Analytics
Build out analytic tools to help the business better understand performance drivers and provide quarterly analysis to Fund Teams upon request. Work closely with the Head of Performance and the Data Strategy Team to help build visualization tools to drive analytics platform.
Integration
Facilitate the integration of investment level returns across the platform. Integrate all New York and San Antonio investment level cash flows and returns into a single-stack reporting/analytics platform.
Industry
Be the subject matter expert on NCREIF/PREA reporting standards. Participate in industry conferences to stay up-to-date on industry standards and best practices
Member of Performance Oversight Committee
Provide oversight for the Firm's adherence to the SEC Marketing and Private Fund rules. Work closely with Compliance to document best practices and help maintain the Performance Reporting Handbook.
Project
Oversee the implementation and automation of all investment level returns within Yardi and handle the integration into the data warehouse. Build full history for each mandate's underlying investments. Identify all investment levels for every fund/mandate and help build dynamic processes to automate property lists and attributes for all investments. Build out calculations for closed-end and open-ended funds.
Assist in the calculation of recurring historical performance measures, including money (IRR) and time-weighted returns, equity multiples and other performance metrics relied upon by business units and disclosed in both investor reports and financial statement footnote disclosures. Assist and manage data streams to benchmark service providers, interpret performance results using attribution methods and analysis and communicate results to senior management and colleagues both orally and in written form, as required. Collaborate with IT and Accounting to further automate performance calculations through Yardis performance-based system. Assist IT and lead automation efforts to assemble, validate and store relevant performance-related data from multiple sources and make them available real-time. Recommend appropriate disclosures for performance metrics and other calculations in accordance with SEC guidance and expectations. Perform other essential duties as assigned. Requirements:
Bachelors degree. 5+ years of performance reporting or relevant quantitative experience. Fundamental understanding of performing recurring performance measure calculations, as well as interpreting and communicating results in a clear and concise manner. Strong knowledge of capital markets, business cycles, and monetary policies and their interrelated relationships with the institutional real estate industry and direct and indirect influence on performance. Must be willing to work on-site five days a week, with flexibility for remote work as-needed for specific reasons. Qualifications may warrant placement in a different job title.
