Description Civil Engineering - EIT Role Description:
Huitt-Zollars has a full-time opportunity for an experienced Hydraulic/Hydrology Civil Engineering EIT at our Phoenix, AZ office. The candidate will work collaborative in a team environment supporting project managers with a variety of civil engineering projects. The EIT will work directly with a Professional Engineer to develop professional technical expertise and knowledge necessary to fulfill the experience requirement for licensure as a Professional Engineer. Salary Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) Duties: Produce design and construction drawings using information from supervisor, research data, and input from consultants. Produce design plans for public agency and private development projects. Plan production will include preparations of plan and profiles of streets and other underground utilities. Assist project manager with of design plans, specifications, construction support, cost estimating, geotechnical coordination. Research materials and assemblies for design and construction drawings as directed by supervisor. Conduct site visits and assist with documenting findings. Attend, record, and distribute meeting minutes, and assist with general project correspondence. Compose and prepare graphic materials for presentations and documents. Preparing drainage calculations and reports. Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic studies, drainage analysis and design, FEMA permitting, and construction documents for a wide range of water resources projects for both public and private clients. Analysis and design will include use of HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, GIS, XPSWMM, Infoworks, Civil 3D and CivilStorm Drainage tools. Our projects require the application of cutting-edge software and engineering judgement to develop sustainable solutions for our clients. Key Responsibilities: Understands, follows, and enforces Huitt-Zollars' business process. Productively collaborates with others and leads or encourages teams to achieve success and camaraderie amongst each other. Understands and follows HZ QMS and Quality initiatives. Ensures quality control measures are being adhered to on projects and daily operations. Understands duties and responsibilities, possesses necessary job knowledge and technical skills, maintains job knowledge current. Assist with appropriate administrative and project support tasks supporting the needs of the project team and office. Complete assignments on-time, within budget, and with highest level of quality. Routinely proposes and produces more effective ways to accomplish assignments. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) 1-4 years of civil engineering experience (may include student internships) Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam is a plus HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, GIS, XPSWMM, Infoworks, Civil 3D and CivilStorm Drainage tools Proficient in MS Word, Outlook and Excel Strong organizational skills Good Communication Skills Works well in a Team Environment Thorough attention to detail Strong knowledge of construction means, methods and techniques Ability to prepare civil engineering documents and specifications for projects This position is also required to adhere to Huitt-Zollars' Core Value Competencies.
