Job Description Summary: The Digital Engineering Integrated Capabilities group is the go-to knowledge & authority for building integrative Digital Engineering (DE) capabilities such as Trade Space Exploration (TSE), Digital Twin, and Digital Thread. This group innovates and applies state-of-the-art practices to enable processes and end-to-end integration of critical DE capabilities needed for all the Draper business lines.
As an intern, you will learn to (1) apply the Systems Engineering approach to architect DE capabilities (2) develop the needed DE products using modern software development processes and (3) communicate solutions and defined capabilities enabling DE, digital linking, and traceability use cases via interactive dashboards.
Job Description: Duties/Responsibilities Design, develop, and enhancement engineering solutions for challenging problems. Implement, test, perform analysis, and provide documentation support. Generate and present test reports including plots, tables, evaluation criteria, and conclusions from data collected and analyzed throughout the test process. Complete assignments designed to develop a practical knowledge of processes, procedures, equipment, facilities, and systems as well as their interrelationships within engineering disciplines. Performs other duties as assigned. Program Requirements
Enrolled in an accredited full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program required. There is flexibility regarding hours and program duration based on applicant's school schedule and availability. Skills/Abilities
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent work ethic with the ability to work independently or in a team environment. Ability to adapt to ever-changing environments, risks, and vulnerabilities. Strong computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Additional Job Description:
Required Qualifications:
Student pursuing a B.S. degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field. Experience with any programming language such at MATLAB/Simulink, Python, C++, etc. and Experience with any systems engineering focused tools such as MagicDraw/Cameo Systems Modeler, DOORS, etc A self-motivated individual with a can-do attitude that can tackle complex and ambiguously defined problems. Familiarity with creating and delivering presentations of engineering designs. Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge and interest in interdisciplinary work spanning Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Digital Engineering, and Trade Space Exploration (TSE). System Analysis, Dashboard development, Optimization techniques, Numerical methods, and Physics-based modeling.
