Job Overview
The Clinical IT Project Manager will function as scrum master and lead agile practices within the Biostatistics and Risk-Based Monitoring (RBM) teams, including daily scrum, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, to facilitate RBM software development.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the development team, product owner, and other stakeholders to define and prioritize product backlog items, ensuring alignment between technical implementation and business requirements. Own the Scrum process, including promoting agile culture through supporting, coaching, mentoring, facilitating, and teaching developers. Track and communicate project progress, providing visibility into analysis timelines, resource allocation, and potential data-related challenges. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinical operations, data management, and regulatory affairs, to coordinate and integrate efforts and ensure high-quality statistical deliverables. Development efforts (~10%) - When feasible, contribute code to repositories, perform code review/QC, or assist in releases to support development efforts. Qualifications and Education Requirements
University/college bachelor's degree or equivalent experience within science or Information Technology required. Minimum 5years in project management or similar role leading multifunctional teams in a clinical trial/research, data management/EDC and/or software technology development disciplines. Server and network exposure, knowledge or background is highly desirable. Minimum 3 years of MS Project experience in a project management role within an information technology industry. Minimum 1 year of assisting IT Infrastructure project experience - server and network implementations. Knowledge and experience with successful Agile best practices and framework, particularly in relation to the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Working knowledge of MS Office suite, project management tools, and agile tools (i.e., Jira, DevOps).
PREFERRED SKILLS
Project Management Institute (PMI), Certified Scrum Master (CSM ),
PMP certification or other IT industry project management certification strongly preferred. Prior experience in a software development or engineering role. Experience with CRO/Pharma. Experience working with remote or distributed teams. Independent and action driven with strong critical thinking and conflict management skills. Excellent organizational and communication skills and the ability to maintain positive and cooperative working relationships. Process oriented and structured working style; capable of managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously and with success. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability and desire to work in a team environment. Ability to coordinate and plan with global and/or ancillary counterparts. Strong project management skillset. Strong people management experience. Must be detail oriented. Ability to effectively prioritize workload and deliverables. Able to effectively make decisions, especially in cases of ambiguity and/or changing priorities with minimal support of upper management. Experience with sponsor/relationship kick off meetings and/or governance meetings. Must be a flexible team player.
