Job Title: Senior Estimator - Heavy Highway Construction

Position Overview:We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator specializing in heavy highway construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in accurately estimating the costs of large-scale infrastructure projects, with a particular emphasis on heavy highway construction. Proficiency in utilizing HCSS HeavyBid software is essential for this role. The Senior Estimator will play a crucial role in our pre-construction process, providing accurate and competitive bids to secure projects while ensuring profitability and adherence to project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimating:

Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for heavy highway construction projects, including earthwork, paving, bridges, drainage, and related infrastructure components. HCSS HeavyBid Utilization:

Expertise in utilizing HCSS HeavyBid software to develop comprehensive bid proposals and analyze cost data effectively. Bid Preparation:

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary information and develop competitive bid packages. Cost Analysis:

Conduct thorough cost analysis and value engineering assessments to identify cost-saving opportunities and enhance project efficiency without compromising quality. Risk Assessment:

Identify and evaluate potential risks associated with project estimates, providing recommendations to mitigate risks and ensure project success. Market Research:

Stay informed about industry trends, material costs, and labor rates to maintain competitiveness in the market and optimize bid strategies. Bid Presentation:

Present estimates and proposals to clients, stakeholders, and internal management, articulating cost breakdowns, project scope, and value-added services. Documentation:

Maintain accurate and organized documentation of all estimates, bid proposals, and related correspondence in accordance with company standards and industry regulations. Continuous Improvement:

Actively participate in post-bid reviews and lessons learned sessions to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices for future estimating efforts. Team Collaboration:

Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment by sharing knowledge, providing mentorship to junior estimators, and actively contributing to team objectives.

Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field. Proven experience as a Senior Estimator in heavy highway construction, with a minimum of [5] years in a similar role. Proficiency in HCSS HeavyBid software and other relevant estimating tools. Strong understanding of heavy highway construction techniques, materials, and industry standards. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project requirements and technical specifications.
