The Pittsburgh office of SmithGroup is looking for a Entry Level Mechanical Engineer to join our team.
Working with us, you will:
Perform analysis, design and documentation of heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, plumbing systems, laboratory and process piping and controls under direct supervision. Develop solutions to challenging HVAC issues with integrated architecture and engineering project design teams. Contribute to SmithGroup sustainable design initiatives by using a variety of software to perform energy, heating and cooling load and computational fluid dynamic calculations. Perform production for assigned engineering work and document changes to engineering drawings as instructed. Assist in construction administration as directed. May assist in developing proposal materials. An ideal candidate has:
A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or equivalent. Minimum 1 year of related experience working (including summer, co-op or intern work) in the AE field. LEED AP and Engineer-in-Training certification preferred. Knowledge of building code concepts and specifications. Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Trane TRACE software, CAD, and the Microsoft Office Suite (with advanced knowledge of Word and Excel).
