Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities Develop, implement, and enforce quality and reliability standards and procedures for Silicon Photonics PIC products to meet Coherent's stringent criteria. Lead industry-leading process certification, product qualification, test and manufacturing quality efforts, overseeing product lifecycle management from inception to end-of-life. Work closely with internal product development teams, offering comprehensive support across all stages of product development. Act as a proactive advocate for Design for Quality and Reliability, ensuring alignment with key stakeholders. Contribute to defining reliability requirements and developing automated screening methodologies for Silicon Photonic PIC products, aligning with corporate quality standards and goals. Conduct risk assessments, manage material containment and excursions, and lead investigations and failure analyses to drive continuous improvement. Education & Experience
BS/MS/PhD in Material Science, Physics, Photonics, or related fields. Minimum of 5 years of experience in roles focused on product certification, test and manufacturing quality, and reliability engineering. Skills
Proficiency in industry-standard problem-solving techniques such as 5 Whys, 8D, and Fishbone analysis. Extensive background and expertise in Photonic device fabrication and backend processing. Familiarity with integrating silicon photonic PICs in optical transceivers is a plus. Familiarity with reliability statistics, Physics of Failure (PoF), and failure analysis methodologies. Work collaboratively in office environment Physical Requirements
Ability to perform tasks in an office environment. Ability to lift upto 50 lbs as needed.
