ESTIMATOR + PRECONSTRUCTION MANAGER

Hill Construction Company is looking to add a seasoned Estimator + Preconstruction Manager who will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with residential luxury construction projects. This role requires exceptional analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, meticulous budgeting standards, and a deep understanding of the luxury homebuilding process.

This is a critical role, as this employee will interface with design teams and clients to help present RFPs, preconstruction exercises, and Cost Estimates, helping ensure our firm secures future projects and has accurate budgets as we transition into the construction phase. OVERVIEW

As an industry leader, Hill Construction excels in making the most technical projects look effortless and turning a dream into a home. To continue growing and servicing our clients, our team is looking to add a seasoned Estimator + Preconstruction Manager. This position is a critical component of our winning team structure working alongside the President to bid, estimate, package RFPs, and manage various preconstruction exercises.

Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

Prepare detailed cost estimates and schedules for luxury custom home projects, including materials, labor, and general conditions costs.

Review and analyze drawings, specifications, and other documents to develop comprehensive estimates.

Review and analyze site conditions and constraints.

Source and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers.

Collaborate with architects, designers, and clients to understand project specifications and requirements. Utilize RFI Management.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Hill Construction company standards, industry standards, materials, and construction techniques.

Provide value engineering options to optimize cost without compromising quality.

Participate in project meetings and site visits as needed.

Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes and regulations.

Risk Management and Forecasting

Manage Preconstruction exercises

Prepare and participate in the job handoff, planning, and job kick-off process.

QUALIFICATIONS

5 years minimum direct experience with estimating (luxury residential estimating preferred).

Ability to thoroughly interpret and bid construction plans.

Comprehensive knowledge of subcontractor scopes.

Ability to effectively, and professionally communicate with project owners, architects, and our office team.

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Proficiency in estimating software and tools (Bluebeam, Procore, Excel, Management Software).

Strong understanding of high-end residential construction methods and materials.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Exhibits leadership.

Detail-oriented with a proactive approach, strong memory recall, and strong problem-solving abilities.

P6/On-Center/Revit experience a plus.

Sage/Timberline experience a plus.

Willingness to regularly visit and walk job sites as well as work in the office.

Bachelor's degree or Construction Management Certification Preferred (Construction Management, Engineering, or related field).

Candidate must possess Hill Construction's core values: passion, integrity, hard work, and professionalism.

Ability to lift or maneuver boxes without accommodation.

Salary Description

$75,000 - $115,000
