The Process Engineer is tasked with enhancing productivity and product quality while minimizing waste across a multi-site flexible packaging operation. This role requires fostering relationships with both internal and external plant customers, providing support to Field Service Technicians, Sales, and plant staff in troubleshooting and preventing issues. Additionally, the engineer will aid Transcontinental Clinton in developing new business by qualifying new products, materials, and processes.

Plant Continuous Improvement / Lean Champion

Lead process improvements to increase throughput, reduce waste, and improve quality in flexible packaging, including printing, laminating, slitting, and finishing. Work with operators and managers to create standardized machine processes and recipes. Apply Six Sigma tools for ongoing improvement and lead Kaizen and 5S efforts. Perform root cause analysis to resolve manufacturing issues in efficiency, quality, or waste. Develop corrective actions and train operators to prevent recurring problems. Assist with the start-up and commissioning of new equipment. Product Development and Quality Support Assist Field Service Technicians and Sales in troubleshooting quality and performance issues at customer sites. Lead investigations into quality complaints to identify root causes and implement solutions. Collaborate with Product Development and Sales to develop new business opportunities, from process design to customer approval. Assist in creating raw material specifications with Procurement and Product Development. Oversee trials and scale-ups for raw materials and customer products. Stay informed on products and packaging equipment that use the Company's offerings. Team Leadership Provide coaching and feedback to develop others and consistently appraise performance Provide and participate in educational opportunities and cross-functional development Foster a safe work environment by creating only safe processes and adhering to all safety and regulatory procedures and wearing designated Personal Protective Equipment. 5+ years experience in packaging materials or equipment Continuous Improvement or Process Engineering experience Six-sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification PreferredExcellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills. Self-Starting with the ability to function with minimal supervision and direct the activities of other partners. Strong organizational skills to maintain control over large amounts of constantly changing information. Proven completion of continuous improvement projects and demonstrated command over financial results. Competent in the use of computer equipment and software as well as process monitoring equipment.
