Software Engineer Intern - Undergraduate

About the Team:

At Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), data is a critical business asset that facilitates business operations, empowers decision making, and provides vital insights into improvement and innovation of PlayStation products and services.

The Audience Platform team provides an in-house customer data platform supporting multiple teams across SIE. We are responsible for allowing our end-users to build rule-based groups of users to be used for marketing campaigns, promotions, etc. Our team works with a variety of teams to integrate their data into our platform and represent that data as attributes to build the aforementioned rule-based groups of users.

Tech Stack: Scala, Java, Kotlin, Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Databricks, Snowflake, DynamoDB, S3, Github, Kafka, Grafana

What You'll Be Doing: Build/Enhance ETL jobs that are vital to the Audience Platform being operational and up to date Tackle scalability issues with innovative technologies Understand the existing processes and share recommendations on process improvements Participate in product roadmap discussions and identify key areas for improvement in the platform Be an advocate for technical excellence and data quality What We're Looking For:

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field Projected to graduate by Spring 2026 Broad understanding of database concepts and proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages - Scala, Java, Kotlin Strong foundation in data engineering, data structures and software design Experience with Spark or Flink is a plus Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership for your work Strong communication skills - both verbal and written Eligibility:

Able to work during one of the following periods: May 19th - August 8th or June 16th - September 5th. Must be available for the entire 12-week internship period. Open to students who are U.S. citizens or international students with an F-1 visa. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.

Our intern positions offer a fixed hourly pay rate. Please note that the pay rate is exclusive to the internship period and may not reflect what pay may look like following the completion of an internship.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role's base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

Intern Pay Range

$41.50-$50 USD
