Accountability Objective

The instructor (faculty member) will provide instruction in the appropriate field and maintain designated office hours. Additionally, the instructor will assist with developing curriculum, syllabus and provide instructional materials and personal insight to provide students with the optimum opportunity to learn a particular course of study.

Required Qualifications

AAS degree related to Computer Networking/Cybersecurity or 2000 hours documented work experience* (*a Bachelors/Masters degree is strongly preferred)

Expertise in appropriate technologies for instruction.

Commitment to excellence in teaching.

Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to students.

Desired Qualifications

Bachelors/Masters degree in related field.

Training or teaching experience.

Industry certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft)

Experience with LMS.

Essential Job Function

Develop and deliver academic content for the computer networking/ program, including organizing and delivering class syllabi and objectives in a clear, concise manner; maintaining an organized and safe environment for our students in classrooms and labs, ensuring training aids, tools, and equipment are well maintained and prepared for use in the classroom and labs. Participate in departmental/institutional operations and program review, creating a learning environment that fosters student success; developing integrating, evaluating and reviewing student learning outcomes in support of the College's ongoing accreditation and contributing to a collegial and collaborative work environment. Maintaining office hours. Strong oral and written communication skills. Must be able to deal responsibly with confidential information. Self-starter, willing to take initiative. Work with other faculty, content experts or advisory partners to keep the curriculum up to date and relevant. Build, foster and network with an Advisory Committee to guide and direct the curriculum decisions, possible internships to students and to stay current and connected. Follow DACC and Business and Technology Assessment trainings, guidelines and submit on time. Participate in college activities and events, including In-Service at the beginning of each semester and committee work when applicable.
