CDU was founded to address inadequate medical care in the region and to provide equitable medical education opportunities for underrepresented students.

Job Summary:
Develops and co-facilitate training programs and workshops to Peer Advocates and participants. Monitors the effectiveness of training, collects feedback on sessions from attendees to use for future improvements to content and presentation. Co-contributes to new training program design and existing program enhancements. Assists in the development and creation of lesson plans and training aids. May specialize in a particular subject, training program, or function of the university.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Principal Investigator and in collaboration with research staff, the Training Specialist I, will participate in the following:
Serve as a member of the project team and participate in team meetings to conceptualize the intervention approach and content Advise on participant outreach, engagement, and retention strategies Development of peer approaches to support behavior change Development of intervention workshop materials and protocols Development of training materials/curriculum for the Peer Advocates Co-facilitate training workshops for the Peer Advocates Co-facilitate intervention workshop activities with participants Attend training as appropriate to fulfill job requirements Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications/Requirements:
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred and a minimum of two years of field experience in community-based health education or health behavior-related research is required. Valid driver’s license and own transportation. EXPERIENCE:
Experience working with transgender individuals is required. Demonstrated leadership and coordination skills. Willingness to participate in training required for the position Community-based evaluation experience required. Prior experience working with diverse populations in a community organizing capacity is highly desirable. KNOWLEDGE/ABILITY/SKILLS:
Computer skills including knowledge of database, spreadsheet, and statistical analysis packages are high Bilingual Spanish/English is highly desirable. Candidate must have excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills; Must be able to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and Work some evenings and weekends. Candidate must be able to work in team settings, function well under pressure, handle multiple tasks concurrently, and always remain professional. Must be able to accept constructive criticism, prioritize workload, be professional and dependable, and interact positively with others. COMPLEXITY:
The ability to perform highly detailed work with sustained attention and care while providing/obtaining information on numerous inquiries is paramount to success in this position. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
