Duties: Lead the hardware/electrical design for the project to achieve project and product development in time and quality through the whole product life cycle. Responsible for realization of system designs, schematics, and/or schematics integration of hardware applications in the range of medium to high complexity under consideration of Harman guidelines. Analyze customer requirements and determine appropriate circuit implementations. Work with PCB layout engineer to implement optimized PCB layouts with compliance to EMC & manufacturing design rules while meeting the customer and mechanical packaging requirements. Design, simulate and verify the electrical circuits and determine the performance characteristics using SPICE, Hyperlynx, ANSYS, and/or other engineering CAE analysis tools. Plan and implement HW verification during product development, to ensure the electrical design meets specifications and requirements, by recording and analyzing test data. Manage and release the electrical BOMs using Harman configuration management processes and systems. Support failure analysis, investigation, and resolve of EMC issues in EMC/EMI compliance testing. Support the development and review of the environmental and EMC hardware validation test plans with the validation engineers. Support the manufacturing team related to DFM and test reviews and technical build issues. Lead electronic design reviews both with the internal cross-functional team and customer reviews. Support the development and review of DFMEAs. Mentor & guide junior engineering talent with technical expertise. Follow current hardware development process and also contribute to process improvement. Support departmental initiatives and activities as directed by the department supervisor. Telecommuting permitted.
