Job Description

The Grp Dir, Strategic Planning, SVP is a seasoned and client-facing integrated planning lead responsible for managing large and complex accounts and pitches, as well as a larger team of reports. With expertise in brand building across various categories and challenges, they drive positioning, insight generation, and creative brief/campaign guidance. Their strategic foundation leads to breakthrough, behavior-changing, and disruptive creative rooted in strong human, cultural data insights. They provide strategic oversight and guidance by mentoring the team to success and drive integration and guidance of engagement and media. Seen as a leader within the department, agency, and network, they are responsible for the supervision and career development of multiple levels of talent; inspiring and cultivating the next generation of high performing, well rounded Strategists.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Brand Planning Expert in strategic discipline, agency processes and pharma compliance requirements. Translates market dynamics, customer insights and deep understanding of disease state to developing brand strategy and solving brand challenges. Excellent story telling skills and voice as it relates to written strategy skills. Therapeutic area expertise. Client Management Develops and maintains strong relationships with clients. Expert level strategic leadership and facilitation of large, complex, and bespoke client workshops and brainstorming sessions. Excellent presentation skills: ability to command/engage an audience. Drives influence toward a strategic POV and recommendation internally and with senior clients. Serves as consultant to client on market research design, methodologies, and analysis. Strong strategic voice, driving clarification, direction, and leadership of internal and/or client meetings. Cross Functional Collaboration Leads strategic planning responsibilities on multiple brands, integrated accounts, with great autonomy and proficiency. Partner with other agency departments to ensure pull through of insights and strategy. Talent & Resource Management Supervises and develops large teams and delegate incoming tasks and assignments as appropriate. Responsible for hiring and staffing decisions and full life-cycle talent management (eg, delivering feedback, annual reviews, general and performance management). Managing staffing and SOWs across multiple accounts and ensure that staff is appropriately utilized based on brand needs. New Business Consistently displays strategic leadership in efforts to add to agency and/or network portfolio. Mastery display of agency pitch process, delivering high quality strategic output consistently. Drives billability and organic growth to client and agency satisfaction. Agency & Culture Agency leader, participating in above brand agency initiatives, workstreams and crafting thought pieces. JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Strategic leader on all aspects of existing business and new business opportunities with support of lower-level talent. Leads full suite of brand strategy deliverables and guide department and/or cross functional counterparts to achieve success. Executes expert level understanding of the strategic planning fundamentals of disease state, indications, customer, and science over large and complex brands. Sets the strategic vision for the brand, guiding/overseeing suite of strategy deliverables (positioning, bedrock, creative briefs/briefings, message strategy, tactical planning). Builds and maintains strong, trustful relationships with senior level clients across multiple accounts. Market research expertise and consulting; drive insight mining/ideation to uncover strategic opportunities and inform and strengthen creative. Expert display of planning tools and core competencies, driving proper use; positioning, insight generation and creative brief writing. Strategic leadership and effective facilitation of large and complex set of client workshops and/or brainstorm sessions. Consistently track and manage utilization of staff based on expected SOWs, understands talent to task, and ensures billability. Participates in above brand agency initiatives and task forces driving collaboration within the agency and network. Directly supervises multiple levels of talent on brand(s) and provides mentorship and guidance to team as needed. Meets regularly with direct and indirect reports to proactively manage career development with the intent of cultivating the next generation of high performing Strategists. Responsible for hiring, staffing, career development, and full life-cycle talent management for direct team (eg, delivering feedback, annual reviews, general and performance management). Demonstrates leadership, empathy and professionalism in communications QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or Related field preferred Minimum 10+ years brand strategy or market research experience in an agency setting preferred, 8+ years required KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Competent in software specific to the client and agency processes including Microsoft Word, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel. Excellent working knowledge in research tools (search databases including SERMO, Datamonitor). Excellent working knowledge in social media platforms. Ability to use AI platforms as an accelerant for brand needs & deliverables. Excellent oral and written communication. Excellent strategic thinking and analytical skills; triangulate insights and data from multiple sources/departments/agency partners to analyze and solve problems. Able to work on multiple projects, adhere to timeline and maintain organization. Fluent across agency offerings, services, products and solutions. Expert level understanding of brand/pharma marketing and promotional strategy and trends (customer, industry, innovation). Strong executive presence and presentation skills. COMPETENCIES:

Salary $200,000 to $290,000 annually The salary range for this position is noted within this job posting. Salary
