Job Overview

Location: Warrendale, PA

Key Job Responsibilities

Design world-class Intrinsic safe electronic sensors and control hardware for use in hazardous underground mining environment

Engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary team to formulate and design innovative products

Technical ownership for the hardware design projects

Lead architecture, design reviews with internal teams and suppliers

Lead various aspects of electronic product readiness including manufacturability

Perform testing and validation of hardware prior to their release

Up to 10% of travel is possible

Qualifications/Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical, Electronics, Computer engineering or relevant

15 years’ experience in Electronics hardware design in as many areas below:

Intrinsic Safety IEC60079-11 electronic hardware development

IECEx/ATEX, MSHA certifications

FPGA design

Design of Low power microprocessor-based controllers

High speed communication systems and Ethernet-based networks

Programmable logic design

Digital circuit design

Low power analogue circuit design

Optical/Imaging components and systems

RF components and systems

Qualifications/Requirements Continued

Experience successfully leading the development of complex CPU, FPGA and ASIC based PCBA designs

Extensive experience with Schematic capture, PCB layout and circuit analysis applications such as primarily Altium, and knowledge of OrCAD, SPICE, eCADSTAR, etc.

Strong experience in using electronic test equipment such as Logic, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, Digital Oscilloscope, Multimeter etc.

Experience in the design of autonomous sensors such as lidars, radars, cameras is a plus

Detail oriented, consistent, motivated self-starter

Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline focused work environment

Familiarity with safety critical system design and industry standards is a plus

Knowledge of common machine control sensors, actuators, and other typical control devices
