Summary

The System Integration Engineer works with cross functional teams of Hardware Design Engineers, customers, supply chain and project managers to ensure robust and high quality product development. The ideal candidate will have a system integration test background in Storage/Server, GPU and networking products. He/she will guide and provide guidelines on Celestica Storage/GPU/network system integration and verification plans, test cases and test coverage:includes element function test, hardware integration test, system and rack integration verification.

Responsibilities

Perform troubleshooting and root-cause analysis on hardware, network, and software related issues.

Hardware debugging of complex/high-end servers and hyperscale compute & network racks, including loading applications and operating systems

Lead the development and implementation of system integration test solutions for complex projects, involving multiple systems and participate in project planning and scheduling.

Review and interpret product/system requirements/specifications and define system integration and validation plans.

Execute all validation/qualification requirements by applying statistical and common industry methods.

Plan, develop and implement procedures for testing systems for security, reliability, cost effectiveness and resilience.

Work with design teams to develop and deliver test matrix for all new products to meet the required Hardware test coverage as per SRD/PRD.

Provide technical leadership and direction to a sizable team of engineers. May be a recognized expert (go to person) in system integration testing.

Automate system integration testing to reduce development time, increase quality and reduce errors.

Work with the SW team to define and validate Diagnosis tools for new products prototype verification and validation.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

Experiencewith lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and specialized test equipment

Proficiency in defining test plans, executing tests, and generating test reports for internal and external uses.

Experience with stress testing utilities, stressapp, stress-ng, iperf3, fio, memtester, etc

Experience in Linux with SLES, RHEL, Ubuntu and CentOS

Experience in collaborating with a cross-functional team of engineers involved in the specification, design, development and test of hardware

Strong knowledge of scripting languages - Python, Perl, VBA… etc.

System/software/firmware integration and verification experience

Additional preferences for the successful candidate include:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge and understanding of x86/Firmware/Linux.

Past experience in test tools - JIRA, Jenkin, and similar tools

Past experience working with external customers

Past experience in project management and able to handle multiple projects.

Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment

Prior experience on operating and programming of network testers (Traffic generator: Keysight/Ixia or Spirent)

Past experience of rack integration and high power system testing is preferred

Physical Demands

Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.

Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.

Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

Occasional travel may be required.

Typical Experience

6+ years’ relevant experience.

Typical Education

Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineeing / Computer Engineering / Computer Science.
