We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Flight Test System and Instrumentation Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in flight test system, instrumentation, and flight test planning. This role is based in Long Beach, CA, reporting to the Head of Flight Test. What You'll Do Flight test system and instrumentation engineer provides flight test system expertise and relevant support to flight test team in aircraft development and flight test.
Responsibilities:
Perform systems integration and instrumentation planning for flight tests of multiple sensors and test equipment. Coordinating efforts with engineering and flight test teams involved in designing, fabricating, modifying, testing, and troubleshooting onboard flight test systems and instrumentation. Coordinating engineering and certification/compliance activities for flight test aircraft Determining and documenting aircraft installation and avionics/flight test system integration requirements for flight test aircraft Developing and maintaining processes to ensure aircraft configuration control. Jointly working with flight test engineers to prepare ground and flight test plans and procedures, to include logical and efficient sequencing of test conditions to satisfy program requirements. Ensuring that test planning requirements have been met. On-site test management, including briefing, debriefing, and configuration control. Participating in flight tests as a flight crew member as required, operating test systems and/or instrumentation during test events. Provide engineering and technical support as part of Flight Test Operations team. Perform post-test data process and analysis of ground and flight test missions. Manger multiple tasks and/or programs and integrate with various teams. Good communicate skills. Project management skills Helpful Traits
