Compensation:

Salary Range (2584 Hay Points): $222,950 - $316,445.

Responsibilities:

New York City Transit is looking for a dynamic Senior Vice President of Subways. The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Subways is a member of the New York City Transit (NYCT) senior executive team managing a 29,000-person organization during significant change. This position is accountable for planning, directing and overseeing all NYCT subway and Staten Island Rapid

Transit Operating Authority (SIRTOA) operations and maintenance in a coordinated and

integrated manner to provide safe, reliable and efficient service to the public. The selected

candidate will oversee the development of operating plans and policies as well as the development of Subways Capital Program and system expansion projects. Also, the SVP will oversee the development and implementation of new technology projects and the procurement of a new subway/rail car fleet with technological enhancements. The SVP will ensure the effective execution of Recovery and Resiliency efforts and oversee projects which will strengthen the subway/rail system to prevent damage from future catastrophic events. In addition, the SVP will advise the President on all matters pertinent to Subways operations; provide all information necessary to obtain support in fulfilling NYCT's operating goals; and represent NYCT at public forums and hearings on service-related concerns to facilitate effective

communication/relationships with elected officials, community groups and the riding public

Education and Experience:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Transportation Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a closely field of study, and fifteen (15) years of full-time related experience; of which ten (10) years must have been in a managerial/supervisory capacity;

OR

A satisfactory combination of education and experience.

Desired Skills: Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills, together with demonstrated quantitative skills and proficiency in Excel modeling. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the talent to communicate complex quantitative concepts in a clear and succinct way to internal stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills with an established history of working on projects requiring group consensus and cooperation among people with no direct reporting relationships. Must be capable of building a strong and successful network, developing new relationships and influencing decision makers. Demonstrated ability to work in team and/or group settings, including team process and staff development skills. Ability to prioritize among competing needs and opportunities and manage multiple projects at the same time.

Selection Method:

Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.

All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MABSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
