Position Summary What you'll do About Team: On the Item and Inventory team, we ensure our customers get their orders when and where they want them, in a frictionless, predictable manner. What's more, we create reusable SaaS products and services that manage our catalog and power end-to-end inventory management, including replenishment, fulfillment, and transportation. With end-to-end inventory management, from replenishment and fulfillment to transportation, we give our drivers and partners the tools they need to get the right items to customers on time and in the right packaging. What you'll do: As a core Architect for the Last Mile Delivery ecosystem, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of our products and systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, mentor and guide engineering professionals, and drive innovation to deliver high-quality, scalable, and robust software products. Create and maintenance of the product technical architecture, aligning it with business goals and scalability requirements. Design and oversee the development of scalable and fault-tolerant distributed systems that can handle high volumes of data and traffic with strong focus on Quality Attributes (e.g., performance, security, scalability, reliability etc.) and building sustainable products. Design data processing pipelines and frameworks to efficiently ingest, transform, and analyze large datasets from diverse sources. Optimize data storage and retrieval mechanisms, including databases, caching, and data warehousing solutions. Work with teams to execute on a data mesh strategy, including the development and rollout of tooling and processes to support data contracts. Establish and maintain the product architecture capability map. Provide hands-on technical guidance and mentorship to software engineers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Design, Various Data Provider teams, business stakeholders, and external stakeholders. Do proof-of-concepts and provide strategic & technical recommendations in various products areas. Stay at the forefront of technological advancements, conducting research to identify emerging tools and methodologies. Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders on specific product areas. Collaborate with product and business leaders throughout the company to ensure that technology initiatives align with business needs. Document architectural decisions, design patterns, data engineering and service design standards, policies, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing across the broader organization. What you'll bring: Minimum BS degree in Computer Science or closely related discipline. 10 years of software development experience with 5 working as an enterprise architect. Proficiency in Java or other modern programing languages, with deep knowledge of memory management and multi-threading. Thorough understanding of Domain-driven Design (DDD) and extensive experience in applying the DDD patterns in Software Development. Thorough understanding of Microservices architecture, Data Mesh Architecture, and Cloud Native Architecture Firm grasp of System Design and building Highly Reliable systems with string focus on Operational Excellence Extensive hands-on experience in Contract First/Design First Software Development for Microservices and Data Products, and CI/CD using the Service & Data Contracts Broad knowledge across data engineering, data governance, batch and real-time streaming data platforms and cloud services. Expertise in Web Services (REST), API Design, ORM, Spring MVC, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Cloud Computing Platforms and Containerization Technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) A clear vision for architecture design and great communication skills to articulate that to all levels of stakeholders. Have strong business acumen to be able to bridge technical and business priorities. The annual salary range for this position is $169,000.00-$338,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
