We are currently recruiting for a Process Engineering (Contact Engineer) role on our Development Engineering team. In this role, you will specialize in leading cross functional teams through the first two stages of our stage gate process to implement capital projects. You will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and advancing projects from conceptualization to implementation. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks aimed at identifying, evaluating, and developing novel ideas to enhance refinery operations, improve efficiency, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will leverage your technical expertise to assess the feasibility, viability, and potential impact of proposed initiatives.
Minimum Requirements:
5-10 years of experience in refinery operations, process engineering, or project development within the oil and gas industry preferred; other industrial environments will be considered Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering Strong technical expertise in process optimization, equipment design, and engineering analysis Strong written and spoken communication, with an ability to communicate effectively across all levels of an organization Ability to resolve conflicts and use a collaborative approach to maintain positive relationships and work towards solutions under difficult circumstances Knowledge of process simulation software such as Aspen Hysys, Pipeflo, HTRI would be considered an asset Ability to learn new software applications (PI Process Book, Enablon, Siemen's Relief Valve Program (PSPPM), and SAP) Comfortable working in the refinery, which includes climbing ladders and working at heights A valid driver's license and a clean driving record Must be legally authorized to work in the USA for the duration of your employment Responsibilities:
Write and/or ensure the update and quality of engineering documents (P&ID's, PFD's, etc) Participate and manage incident investigations, including root-cause analysis Lead brainstorming sessions and collaborate with stakeholders to generate innovative ideas for process optimization, equipment upgrades, and sustainability initiatives Conduct feasibility studies to assess the technical, economic, and environmental aspects of proposed projects Develop preliminary conceptual designs and engineering solutions using engineering principles and simulation tools to model and analyze the performance of proposed systems Perform/review process engineering calculations (ex: hydraulic, control valve sizing) during all project phases including feasibility, identification and evaluation of alternatives, conceptual design, front end design, detailed engineering, construction, and start-up Collaborate closely with internal teams, including engineers, project managers, and operations; provide technical input during project planning including cost estimation, resource allocation, and timeline development as well as support project commissioning and their transfer to operations Communicate technical concepts and project updates effectively to stakeholders at various levels of the organization Ensure that proposed projects comply with applicable regulatory requirements, safety standards, and environmental regulations coordinating with regulatory agencies as needed Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices and evaluate new technologies and equipment for their applicability Location and other Key Details:
