Junior Information Security Analyst

SeKON is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Information Security Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will assist in planning, implementing, upgrading, and monitoring security measures to protect computer networks and sensitive information. You will play a critical role in ensuring appropriate security controls are in place to safeguard digital files and electronic infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cybersecurity, a strong technical foundation, and a willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan and Implement Security Measures: Assist in developing and deploying security measures to protect company networks, systems, and data from unauthorized access, viruses, and other security threats. Monitor and Upgrade Systems: Regularly monitor computer networks for security breaches and potential vulnerabilities. Recommend and implement necessary updates or upgrades to enhance system security. Incident Response: Assist in investigating and responding to security incidents, breaches, and viruses, ensuring timely resolution and mitigation of risks. Ensure Compliance: Ensure appropriate security controls are in place and align with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Security Audits: Participate in security audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with best practices. Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with IT and other departments to implement security measures and educate staff on cybersecurity protocols. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of security incidents, vulnerabilities, and solutions to support continuous improvement and reporting. REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH) are a plus. Experience: Entry-level or up to 1-2 years of experience in IT or cybersecurity roles. Strong academic projects or internships in information security will be considered. Technical Skills: Familiarity with network security tools, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software. Understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and basic scripting is a plus. Knowledge: Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, protocols, and threat landscapes. Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a team environment. Good verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Skills
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS). Hands-on experience with security monitoring tools or technologies. Basic knowledge of cloud security and virtualization.
