Role Description
Safety manager is responsible for enhancing overall occupational health and safety on the manufacturing site and monitoring laws and regulations. It's primary jobs are to assess the status of occupational health and safety; establish, implement, and develop occupational health and safety management programs and policies based on laws, regulations, and company's standards. This position needs to interact with a wide range of personnel and conduct safety audits, inspections to identify issues related to health/safety and to investigate the root causes and report it. Safety manager requires some on-call support.
Areas of Responsibility
Occupational Health/Safety Management System
Support adoption and implementation of occupational health/safety laws, regulations, and company's standard at the manufacturing and service site. Maintain working knowledge of occupational health/safety laws and establish and/or revise procedure manuals and standards to reflect changes and organizational needs. Develop annual facility H&S goals and objectives through data deep dive analysis and auditing results Drive the development of specific safety and health standards including but not limited to: injury/ illness/ Near miss investigations, energy control, hazard communications, high risk tasks (risk assessment and reduction) and ergo team process. Position will report to TNA EHSS manager working with a team of managers with direct responsibilities to two safety specialists, with indirect reports to twenty responders, reps and clinic associates. This position will on occasion stand in for the TNA EHSS Manager in high level meetings providing updates, project management status, and monthly data including trends analysis. Work with engineering to enhance systems/ processes for coordinating, tracking and auditing work permits, MSDS (material safety data sheets) management, emergency response plan (ERT and Drill) PPE management (purchasing and provision). Manage clinic and medical team, Safety Leads, Safety Reps, and First Responders. Communications
Liaison effectively with statutory authorities, OSHA and OHS representatives as needed, and also with the operations leadership, medical and plant floors managers, and third-party contractors. Audit Preparations & Action
Conduct periodic audits, formulate root causes, assign corrective and preventive actions. Safety Training

Education
Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety Management, Occupational Safety Engineering, or other related field of study Experience
6-8+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing 5-7 years of experience leading cross function teams and/or managing processes Certifications/License
Associate Safety Professional (preferred) Certified Safety Professional a plus Certified Industrial Hygienist a plus Skills
Advance proficiency in Microsoft Office Proficiency with SAP, other enterprise system a plus Safety management systems experience a plus. BENEFITS
