Electrical Engineer - Houston, TX Our client is seeking an Electrical Engineer to work within their facilities located in Houston, TX, for an initial 1-year assignment, with extensions.

Member of a multi-discipline Engineering Team providing Electrical Engineering guidance and assistance, Construction oversight, and Operations support, for managed projects within the E&C Department during their Design, Construction, Commissioning, Start-Up, and Plant Operations after formal handover.

Knowledge and Proficiency: Knowledge of LNG process and strong familiarity with the LNG industry. Expertise with large electric motors and variable frequency drive applications, comprising electric motor-driven LNG plant design. Experience with electrical power generation/co-generation including Combined Cycle power plants. Proficiency with electric power distribution, power system studies, area classification, as well as plant-wide power management and control systems. In-depth knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), applicable standards, and best industry practices, as well as their implementation and compliance within operating facilities. The ideal candidate will have a combination of operational and design experience for large industrial facilities including LNG facilities. Job Responsibilities:

Review and evaluate proposed LNG project electrical design concepts, including electric motor-driven LNG refrigeration compressor design and combined-cycle power plant configurations. Reviews and comments on Electrical Design documentation such as Basis of Design (BOD), Design Criteria, and Design Philosophy, in addition to all relevant project specifications. Examines EPC contractor electrical design and coordinates as needed to meet all other engineering disciplines' requirements. Reviews and provides expert input on Power Systems Studies, Electrical Load List, Single Line diagrams, Equipment Datasheets, Plan drawings, Supplier documentation, etc. Provides engineering design recommendations and monitors the EPC contractor and subcontractors for adherence to all applicable North America design codes, standards, regulations, and guides, such as OSHA, NEC, NFPA, ANSI, NEMA, IEEE, API, and UL. Provides Electrical Engineering expertise for the design, specification, and functionality of all electrical systems, and related equipment and processes. Responds to reports and requests for information such as Technical Queries and formal RFIs. Participates in Process Hazard Analyses including E-HAZOP (Electrical HAZOP), HAZOP as required, and provides technical support to other risk assessments, design reviews, and constructability reviews. Assesses and verifies the integrity of electrical systems during Installation, Commissioning, and Startup, in order to maximize system reliability and availability, by carrying out inspections and construction support as necessary. Reviews and approves changes through the change order process and verifies that affected documents and drawings are updated accordingly. Evaluates the installation of Vendor Packages against meeting compliance requirements and monitors equipment performance during commissioning and startup. Ensures that any vendor required changes to equipment or documentation are handled through the Management of Change (MOC) process. Willingness to travel to site as business requirements dictate. Required Skills:

Strong leadership and administrative abilities are required. An acute sensitivity to safety issues in a hazardous environment, particularly electrical hazards including arc-flash. Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization and with individuals and groups from different disciplines, industries, and governmental agencies. Organized and able to manage multiple activities and programs timely and with a high degree of accuracy. Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills. Computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Proficiency with ETAP is a must. Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from a recognized university is required. A Professional Engineer (PE) License in good standing is preferred. Minimum of twelve (12) years in Electrical Engineering, preferably with EPC experience. Expertise with electrical power distribution systems in a refinery/petrochemical, or industrial environment, including high voltage from 138kV to 345kV Utility supply. Ample Engineering Design experience during all phases of a project including pre-FEED, FEED, Detailed Design, Procurement, and Construction. Experience with Power Generation/Co-Generation including Combined Cycle Power Plants, etc., is highly desired. Experience with electrical utility regulation and operation is also preferred including experience in interactions with utility providers Working knowledge of O&G industry codes and standards, including IEC. Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
