CT Technologist. Schedule: Thursday - Monday Evening Shift 3pm-11:30pm 13 week contract assignment Pay Rate:
$75 **Local applicants only - this is not a travel contract** Requirements Performs all CT examinations according to department procedure manual and established protocols. Interviews patients (in/out) for history pertaining to CT exam. This history is to include unusual conditions or limitations and other pertinent information Prepares and/or administers contrast media, oral and IV contrast. Monitors and observes any abnormal changes in patients color, respiration, heart rate and responsiveness. Responds appropriately to emergency situations, administers first aid/CPR as needed. Maintains emergency equipment in the room (to include O2, suction, sphygmomanometer, stethoscope, Benadryl, Adrenalin, Epinephrine 1:1,000 and 1:10,000) to insure availability. Confirms patient identification by verbal confirmation and visual ID band inspection as stated in the Radiology Safety Manual. Provides radiation protection to patient (if the patient requests) staff and self according to prescribed radiation safety standards. Radiation protection provided: lead aprons (9.25 lbs), lead gloves (2 lbs) and lead glasses (2.5 oz). Assists and/or moves patients independently to and from wheelchairs, stretchers and CT scan table (27" from floor). Prepare patients for procedures according to established Radiology Department protocols. Visually verifies accuracy of radiology order by checking physicians order in patients' chart or prescription. Verbal verification from physician may be necessary if orders are not clear. Assists radiologists in IR CT examinations including but not limited to biopsies Uses hospital information system, via EPIC to access laboratory results for exam related information. Qualifications Minimum of hich school diploma or GED is required Registration with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) is required
Two years of experience as a Registered Radiologic Technologist is required
CPR certification is required
CT certification is required
