Project Engineer - EV Charging Infrastructure

Overview
We are building a talent pool of experienced Project Engineers to lead EV infrastructure projects in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a key member of the team, the Project Engineer will oversee projects with a focus on both "to the meter" and "behind-the-meter" EV infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of electrical engineering principles, experience with EV charging infrastructure, and a strong proficiency in designing and documenting electrical systems. The Project Engineer will manage a small team, QC electrical designs, lead weekly meetings with client and team, oversee project schedules, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Responsibilities
Leads design team and subcontractors. Assigns tasks, sets priorities, monitors progress to ensure project milestones are met. Oversees design activities and key deliverables. Provide technical support and guidance. Ensures compliance with relevant local, state, and national electric codes, standards and regulations. Conducts regular meetings with clients, providing updates on project progress, milestones, and address any issues or concerns. Develops and maintains accurate documentation, including program procedural documents and project specific documentation such as contracts, permits, drawings, and change orders. Identifies opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and cost savings. Designs electrical systems for EV charging stations, including the selection and specification of equipment such as transformers, switchgear, distribution panels, circuit breakers, wiring, and protective devices. Electrical Calculations: Perform detailed electrical calculations including load flow analysis, voltage drop calculations, short circuit analysis, and protective device coordination for EV charging stations. One-Line Diagrams: Develop and draft accurate and comprehensive one-line diagrams for EV charging installations, ensuring all components and interconnections are correctly represented. Quality Assurance: Perform quality assurance checks and reviews of electrical designs and installations to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required Professional Engineer (PE) license required; California Professional Engineer (CA PE) license preferred Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on EV charging infrastructures or similar electrical systems required Familiarity with EV charging standards and protocols required (i.e., SAE J1772, CCS, and CHAdeMO) California Electric Utility experience preferred Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM Power Tools) and advanced knowledge of electrical calculations Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Experience managing a team and leading meetings with clients or customers Excellent reasoning ability and analytical skills to examine complex problems and propose innovative solutions
Pay Range: $93,600 - $145,600 (CA residents) / $79,560 - $123,760 (non-CA residents)
Work Location: Remote with occasional travel for client visits and fielding (CA Bay Area residents preferred)
Travel: Up to 10% within the CA Bay Area
Visa Sponsorship: Legal authorization to work in the U.S.A. on a full-time basis without sponsorship
Physical Requirements: The ability to move about on foot, covering various terrains within construction sites
