Summary:
This role is responsible for providing training on systems and applications that support the conduct of research at Rush. The occupant of this role with introduce users to research systems and may also orient users on relevant and related Rush policies and procedures. The Research Systems Trainer (RST) will have an in-depth understanding of the applications and systems at use by the Rush research community, and how these applications interface with each other and with other systems. The RST will examine the current operations and procedures and work within the team of Research Education and partners with subject matter experts to document, implement and train on systems-related research workflows, processes, policies, and procedures. This role supports ongoing training needs for the organization that may include, but are not limited to new employee training, follow-up training with existing staff, and the development of additional training to meet role-specific needs. Required Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree and/or formal training in Health Care Administration, Teaching
• 2 years’ classroom application or technical training experience with a focus on adult education
• Excellent analytical, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills desired.
• Strong teamwork and customer service focus desired.
• Ability to build rapport with training participants and their leaders.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, relative to project needs.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
• Training in Information Systems
• 2 years’ experience in a healthcare setting
Physical Demands:
• This is a hybrid position. The individual who occupies this position must be able to successfully work from home and occasionally travel on-site or to relevant conferences when necessary.

Responsibilities:
• Become Superuser for certain research-related systems such as OnCore, Epic, Cayuse, etc. as assigned.
• Assist in the development of detailed, customer-focused training materials that reflect adult learning styles. Keeps materials current to reflect system upgrades, fixes and new Rush policies.
• Identify existing policies and procedures that may be leveraged and updated to accommodate changes within systems.
• Understand related standard operating procedures and train pertinent staff on them.
• Collaborate with the Research Education Team to optimize training methods, learning programs, courses and materials based on Rush and research-specific policies and procedures.
• Provide training in variety of formats and modalities, including virtual classroom and 1:1 coaching to Rush staff.
• Coordinate training sessions and assist with implementation of e-learning programs.
• Provide direct email and telephone support to users, in conjunction with IS Help Desk, and Research IS support.
• Work closely with Rush research staff to understand training needs.
• Assist in setting up applications within the clinical departments, university colleges and various laboratories.
• Subject-matter expert on certain research-related systems including OnCore, Epic and Rush Research Portal. Uses this knowledge to develop training materials, answer system questions and deliver training programs that support the effective use of these applications by Rush personnel.
• Trained in research-related policies and procedures for administration, human subjects protection, laboratory safety, compliance, and billing while integrating this knowledge into overall training programs for Rush staff.
• Keep current on system version upgrades, releases, and fixes, and how they will impact the end users’ workflows. Distributes news flashes to Rush users to alert them of changes on as needed basis.
• Participate in new system/ software implementations / rollouts, lending application expertise in support of each implementation.
• Structure training materials and courses according to user roles.
• Train new users on proper system security procedures to ensure the proper personnel has access to the right data and to ensure confidential client data is viewed only by those with the authority to do so.
• Manage project plan tasks in a timely manner.
• Identify test cases and assist users within Test environments, stay abreast on and complete the necessary testing/ training following software version upgrades, create guides, tip sheets and other training resources, and compile user feedback on the system and system-related training.
• Create and maintain training materials, conduct super user training, and lead end user training.
• Troubleshoot Clinical Trial Management System user security issues and works with the IS security team to provide guidance on the appropriate security for new Rush users.
• Perform other job duties/related assignments as required.
