We're looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join our team.

This role will be working within our AI group and focus on the research, development and delivery of Generative AI solutions within our products. You'll collaborate closely with a cross-functional team of data scientists, software engineers, data engineers and product managers that deliver our product roadmap. You'll help design the architecture of those solutions and ensure their technical success by making sure they are scaleable, robust and maintainable.

The successful candidate for this role must have a strong Software Engineering background and understand the challenges of delivering products with a commitment to incremental delivery. Proven experience of leading complex software engineering projects, and the ability to articulate ideas effectively across multiple business areas is essential. As one of our Principal Software Engineers you will:

Be a technical leader who can work across multiple teams to solve complex technical problems Have expert-level experience building web-based applications, supporting micro-services and deploying them in a cloud environment Have technical experience of complex projects and be able to act as a technical authority Have effective communication and collaboration skills, and an ability to scale engineering initiatives Be able to work with our technical leadership teams to inform the technical evolution of our applications and the platform it resides on Have expert level understanding of modern software engineering, from test automation to architectural principles Understand what it takes to develop resilient, scalable and secure software Recognise that people build software and working with others is key to success You're a great fit for this role if: You've got experience leading teams in the development of complex web services and deploying them to AWS You have proven leadership abilities and want to be part of a high performing team You've used to agile ways of working, test driven development and paired programming You understand that people build software and know the importance of communication and collaboration Our tech stack

We use a wide variety of tools and technologies across our products, for this role we're looking for: Proficiency in multiple programming languages; in particular strong skills in

Python

and tooling within the Python ecosystem. Strong experience in using cloud platforms like

AWS ,

Google Cloud , or

Azure

for deploying scalable solutions Skilled in

software architecture

patterns, microservices, distributed systems, and cloud-native design principles Experience with continuous integration / continuous deployment ( CI/CD ) pipelines using tools like

Jenkins

or similar Knowledge of data engineering principles and techniques. Knowledge of data science techniques would be a plus Here's an idea of other technologies you might encounter:
