Category: Non-Clinical Professional Schedule: Day Shift Employment Type: Full Time
Clinical Engineer Location: Baltimore MD (On-Site) Summary: Performs project work, design, modification, fabrication and installation of existing and newly acquired clinical engineering equipment and systems. Provides assistance to clinical areas assuring that such equipment and systems meet established operation and performance standards. Reviews selected safety events to analyze root causes, document events, and communicate corrective actions. This work is performed under minimal supervision and using the tools and techniques of biomedical technology. Education: Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or related area with coursework in anatomy and physiology preferred
Or at least 8 years of experience in the Associate Clinical Engineering role with demonstrated competence
Work Experience: Requires 3 years related work experience
Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of clinical engineering technology, design, operation and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of safety rules, procedures and practices, including the proper use of safety equipment as defined by industry standards
Skills: Applies biomedical, electrical and safety knowledge indicated. Safely uses tools and equipment indicated.
Possesses the ability to solve problems and manage information indicated. Ability to test, troubleshoot and repair complex clinical and non-clinical equipment and devices. Demonstrated ability to manage technical staff and workload to complete department responsibilities involving medical equipment and deliver project work within agreed schedule. Ability to design new equipment and modify existing equipment. Requires proficient written and verbal English communication skills. Identifies and avoids hazards as indicated by warning labels, signage, lights and other warning devices. Performs work within reasonable lengths of time as measured against trade, industry or engineered standards.
Salary Range: Minimum 36.49 per hour - Maximum 60.26 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
