Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Entry-Level PHP Web Developer to join our dynamic team. This role involves developing, coding, testing, and debugging a new software or enhancements to existing software. The ideal candidate will be responsible for writing clean, efficient code, and working closely with senior staff, or other developers to ensure optimal functionality. They will implement basic technical solutions ensuring that business needs and requirements are met. And will performs smaller system integration tasks. They will provide estimation for assigned tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for a new graduate or someone early in their career to build a solid foundation in web development in a workplace fostering innovation and continuous learning. Specific Responsibilities: Strategic Planning Collaborates with user to develop work flow and best practices. Assists in all stages of the project, starting from the initial planning stages. Administration Responds to inquiries via phone, online, in-person, etc. Creates and maintains software/process/support documentation. Routes more complex requests for features/upgrades/changes to appropriate senior staff/management. Participates in team/project meetings. Identifies database and software performance issues and makes adjustments. Development Assists with design, development, and maintenance. Tests and debugs software. Writes programs according to specifications from senior staff. Codes software applications adhering to designs that support internal business requirements or external user. Competes tier 3 troubleshooting. Develops reports. Prioritizes assigned tasks. Opens help tickets with vendors. Miscellaneous Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: (Education, experience, and any other certifications or clearances) Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in a major such as computer science, information technology, or related; OR appropriate combination of education and experience. No experience required. Linux Operating System SQL CSS HTML 5 JavaScript JQuery Node.js Perl PHP RHEL Critical Thinking Debugging Problem Solving Troubleshooting Code documentation Collaboration and teamwork Organizational Skills Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.) Knowledgeable in a modern programming language such as PHP, Ruby, Python, Java, Javascript, etc. Familiarity of web application development and understanding of web development best practices such as code reusability, security, and performance optimization. Good understanding of SQL to manipulate and extract data from a relational database. (e.g., PostgreSQL). Familiarity with Version Control Systems like Git. Conceptual understanding of RESTful APIs and how to integrate them into applications. Strong communication skills (written & verbal) and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment Ability to troubleshoot, debug and work collaboratively in a team environment. Familiarity with Linux and Unix-like operating systems. Excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrate ability to manage multi-tasks and deliver on deadlines. Preferred Qualifications: (Education and experience) Experience in higher education environment is highly desired Knowledge of Agile development methodologies Knowledge of current industry best practices in software design and software development. Preferred Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities) Familiarity with Laravel PHP framework and front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js is a plus. Working knowledge of AWS components and technology. Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment systems (Github actions, Terraform) is desired Exposure to automated testing tools is highly desired and creating technical documentation. Desire and willingness to learn new tools and technologies and adapt to a constantly changing technologies. The ability to be a self-starter with an excellent organization skill. Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills. Target hiring amount for this position will be $73,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
