Electrical Design & Controls Engineer

We are currently hiring an Electrical Design and Controls Engineer for a growing manufacturing company in the Greater Seattle area. This direct-hire role offers competitive pay, benefits, and long-term growth opportunities.
The Electrical and Controls Engineer will develop, design, and implement advanced electrical and control systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, control systems, and project leadership. This role requires a proactive problem-solver with excellent technical expertise and the ability to collaborate across teams to drive project success.
The Electrical/Controls Engineer will: Design, develop, and optimize electrical schematics, layouts, and wiring diagrams using CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN). Select and specify electrical components such as PLCs, HMIs, sensors, motors, and drives. Ensure designs comply with industry standards (e.g., NFPA, IEC, UL) and safety regulations. Develop and program PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems to control and monitor industrial processes. Create and optimize control algorithms, logic sequences, and safety interlocks. Conduct simulation and testing of control systems for reliability and efficiency. Lead and manage electrical design and control system projects from concept to completion. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software developers, and project managers. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. Provide technical support for commissioning, testing, and system integration. Diagnose and resolve electrical and control system issues during design, manufacturing, and operation phases. Stay updated on emerging technologies, tools, and best practices in electrical and control engineering. Identify opportunities to enhance system performance, reduce costs, and improve reliability.
Preferred education, qualifications, and experience:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or a related field 5+ years of experience in electrical design and control system engineering, preferably in engineering services, oil and gas, construction, or industrial engineering. Proven track record of leading projects and mentoring junior engineers. Proficiency in PLC programming. Experience with HMI/SCADA systems. Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols. Familiarity with electrical design software. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
Salary: $110,000-$140,000
