Posted on Nov 06, 2024 Valid Through Dec 06, 2024 Profile A law firm seeks a Patent Prosecution Technical Advisor with the following responsibilities, requirements, and qualifications: Job Overview: Assess scientific literature, patents, and application documents across various chemical subjects, including organic, synthetic, and medicinal chemistry. Understand, critique, and provide insightful opinions on scientific data related to inventions. Conduct comprehensive searches for scientific articles, patents, and patent application documents relevant to inventions. Perform in-depth analyses comparing inventions with existing discoveries or inventions. Compose patent applications comprising comprehensive backgrounds, descriptions of critical features, and distinct claims defining the invention. Draft responses to patent application rejections, provide detailed analyses of the scientific or patent references cited, assess differences, and present convincing arguments for allowance. Collaborate with colleagues on projects, adapting effectively to different team environments. Provide insightful feedback and arguments to colleagues on their ideas. Work with clients on innovative technologies to procure patent protection and build IP portfolios. Duties: Assess scientific literature, patents, and patent applications. Collaborate with colleagues. Provide feedback and arguments. Work with clients on innovative technologies. Requirements: M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or relevant laboratory experience. Demonstrated knowledge in organic, synthetic, medicinal chemistry, and pharmaceutical sciences. Demonstrated ability to verbally present scientific concepts to wide audiences. Scientific writing ability with proper grammar and vocabulary. Ability to prioritize, stay organized, and pay attention to detail. Effective collaboration and teamwork skills. Service-oriented mindset. Education: M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Chemistry (we will also accept candidates who have defended their dissertations and are waiting for the degree to be conferred) or relevant laboratory experience.
