The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining various plant machine systems. This role requires proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, construction drawings, and electrical blueprints/schematics. The Maintenance Electrician will ensure compliance with safety standards, conduct tests on electrical systems, and execute preventative maintenance programs. This position requires technical proficiency in operating maintenance tools and equipment.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with management to schedule maintenance projects, ensuring timely completion.Install and troubleshoot various plant machine systems, including single or 3-phase, 120, 230, and 460 volts.Read and interpret mechanical drawings, construction drawings, and electrical blueprints/schematics.Ensure compliance with safety standards and conduct tests on electrical systems for continuity.Utilize test devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure system safety and compatibility.Execute established preventative maintenance programs and assist with new equipment installations.Prepare requisitions for parts and equipment and contribute to inventory control processes.Maintain good housekeeping standards and adhere to safety protocols at all times.Demonstrate technical proficiency in operating maintenance tools and equipment.Essential SkillsProficient in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair techniques.3 - 5 years of continuous Industrial Electrician experience.Comfortable with troubleshooting PLCs.Experience installing and troubleshooting single or 3-phase 120V to 480V systems.Proficiency in conduit installation and support, circuit pulling, and termination.Ability to interpret manuals, schematics, and other technical documents effectively.Prior experience in manufacturing and industrial electrical systems preferred.Valid license to practice the electrician profession preferred.Additional Skills & Qualifications3+ years maintenance experience in plant environment.Knowledge and hands-on experience with electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and conveyor systems.Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and blueprints.Excellent troubleshooting and installation skills.Basic knowledge of metal fabrication, welding, and plumbing.Ability to work in a team environment professionally.Proper use of all hand and power tools (to include multimeters, micrometers, and calipers).Experience adjusting machine eccentrics to parallel rolls.Ability to Ohm out, test wiring insulation and meg motors.Understand functions and operations of electrical and pneumatic switches.Basic knowledge of PLC and CPU.Ability to troubleshoot 480v (3-Phase and Single Phase).Ability to perform machine rebuilds with little to no supervision.Knowledge and proper execution with regard to maintaining safety guards and Lock Out.Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.2+ years of formal maintenance training (technical college/trade school or military training equivalent) is a plus.Ability to lift 50lbs, walking, standing, stooping, pushing and/or pulling, kneeling, reaching, and climbing.10 - 12-hour days and most weekends.Why Work Here?Join a family-owned company specializing in containerboard and kraft paper, corrugated boxes, high graphic displays, and contract packaging.
