HousekeeperDepartment: Waikiki Monarch Hotel Reports to: Housekeeping Manager Status: Non-ExemptStarting at $16/ Hour1.Job Purpose/Objective:This position is responsible for cleaning, organizing, and restocking the guestrooms and common areas of the hotel. Daily tasks include room maintenance, cleaning the guest and public restrooms as well as cleaning windows and mirrors. The incumbent must report missing items from guestrooms to hotel management. 2.Essential Job Functions: •Within guestrooms, daily operations may include the following tasks: •Change bed linens •Dust/polish furniture and wall hangings •Empty trashcans •Sweep and wash hard surface floors as well as vacuum carpets •Clean windows and mirrors •Place pamphlets/informational brochures, TV remote controls, irons and ironing boards, luggage racks, and other accouterments neatly in designated spots •Set room temperature to predetermined setting and restock items such as laundry bags, stationery, and coffee packets •If there are broken or nonfunctional items within the room such as a burnt-out lightbulb or broken door lock, promptly report it to maintenance or superior •No rearrangement of any guest items •Bathrooms: •Clean mirrors, sinks, toilets, showers and bathtubs •Sweep and wash the bathroom floors •Empty the trashcan and restock towels/linens and items such as toilet paper, soaps, and shampoos •Before leaving the room, make certain faucets are turned off, and the shower curtain and toilet seat are properly positioned •If something in the bathroom is amiss, such as a dripping sink faucet or cracked shower tile, promptly alert maintenance or supervisor for repair •No rearrangement of any guest items •Public areas: •Maintain cleanliness of a hotel's common or public areas •Vacuum hallways and lobbies •Clean windows•Dust/polish furnishings •Clean restrooms, sinks, urinals, floors, and toilets; keep toilet paper, soap, and towels stocked •Laundry: •Laundering sheets, towels, and other linens •Miscellaneous: •Report missing items from the rooms to hotel management •Collect, report, and log lost and found items in guestrooms•Occasionally, the housekeeper will need to flip mattresses, change out mattress pads, bed skirts, and bedspreads, or spot clean soiled furniture, carpet, and draperies •Perform other duties as assigned 3.
