Description
Position: Welder
Reports To: Foreman
Summary: Use hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products. Welder must be able to pass a welder qualification test consisting of but not limited to 6G pipe or 5G Butt/Branch under one of these codes: IE API 1104, ASME B31.3, B31.4 to be considered a welder.
Essential Qualifications, Duties, and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)
Physical Demands: The employee must regularly lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Welders must be willing to comply with PCM Health, Safety, and Environmental rules and regulations. They must also comply with all governmental regulations.

Position: Welder

- Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding.
- Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together.
- Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.
- Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment.
- Chip or grind excess weld, slag or spatter by using hand scrapers or power chippers, portable grinders or arc cutting equipment.
- Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, shielded metal arc, resistance welding and submerged arc welding.
