OSP Lead Technician - Field

Responsibilities
• The role of OSP Field Lead is responsible for managing and supervising all ongoing construction projects
• In addition to ensuring safety rules are followed at all times, they develop work schedules based upon the availability of employees or contractors and weather conditions
• OSP Field Lead is responsible for sourcing supplies needed for repairs and delivering materials within time limits, to ensure they do not run out before completing a project
• Coordinating daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather, supply, delivery, and personnel
• Delegating individual responsibilities and projects to crew members and contractors
• Training, managing, and mentoring employees and contractors
• Providing adequate resources and staffing to meet project schedules, laws, regulations, best practices, and safety needs
• Emphasizing safe use of tools, machinery and equipment while providing training on safety gear, helmets and procedures
• Developing and managing project budgets and quality standards for all sites
• Resolving conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably
• Call in locates and Conduct deployments
• Occasionally conduct mechanical tasks
• Fill in field positions when necessary
• Customer Contact, which sometimes involves disgruntled customers
• File daily production reports and vehicle inspections
• File all damage and incident reports
• Complete in-field decisions and changes as needed
• Coordinate tasks between the four divisions of OSP (which are splicing, aerial, underground, and drop)
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned
Qualifications
• HSD, or equivalent education, is required
• 2-4 years' experience as construction or outside plant foreman, or similar role
• Valid Drivers' Licenses, required
• Able to oversee all operations at a worksite and ensure a safe work environment
• An in-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA guidelines
• Excellent verbal and written communication ability
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, and keen attention to detail
• Time-management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to understand drawings and blueprints
• Expert knowledge of the construction industry
